£10,000 for Community Projects

A £10,000 fund is available for community projects to benefit people living in Wadebridge, St Kew, St Mabyn and Egloshayle.

The money comes from the Middle Treworder Solar Farm under a “Section 106” agreement made when it was given permission to go ahead, and is available as grants to voluntary and not-for-profit organisations and community groups in the area around the solar farm.

Superfast designs in Wadebridge

Falmouth University students have designed the future – or some aspects of it at least. The students, supported by Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network, worked with local people to develop ideas to improve life and business using superfast broadband technology and turn the ideas into designs. Their projects are now on display at WREN’s Energy Shop in Wadebridge.

5 Wren note design winners announced

75 children from primary schools in the Wadebridge area seized the opportunity to design WREN’s new Wr5 note.

5 Wren note competition

Design the new Wr5 note - closing date 9th June.

School children in Wadebridge have been asked to design a new note for the local currency, the Wren.

New Operations Manager Appointed

New Operations Manager Appointed

Dominic Comonte has been appointed Operations Manager, with immediate effect. Dominic was previously WREN's project manager.

New Board Member

 

WREN has a new director. Rachel Wigglesworth was co-opted as Director of Public Health at the Board meeting on 21st January 2014.

Energy Shop at Xmas

Energy Shop opening times at Christmas.

The WREN Energy Shop on The Platt is open on Monday 23rd December 2013, and will then be closed on Tuesday 24th until the New Year.

Cornwall Sustainability Awards 2013

WREN wins twice at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards

WREN was nominated in two categories for the Cornwall Sustainability Awards. Technical Director Jerry Clark won Best Individual Leadership, and WREN itself was joint winner of Best Community Renewable Energy Scheme at the awards ceremony on 6th December.
